bocaFantasma (2002)
i found myself making dozens of recordings with numerous volunteers, who were requested to make the highest pitch and the lowest that they could without trying to be dramatic, funny, or musical. for the first incarnation as an installation at the Beyond Music Series at Beyond Baroque, i wrote a Supercollider patch to create spatial movement of the voices, with eight running simultaneously. i discovered it works best when they are quiet, so i've finally learned to appreciate quiet endeavors!!
for future versions i intend to create broadband noise ala the Muddler and lay that in along with found sound in the space, or sound from the building of presentation.
